Unlike raw plant butters (like shea or mango), which offer absolute gentleness, essential oils behave more like pharmaceutical-grade ingredients.

    To get the most out of them without taking risks, it is crucial to understand their immense benefits, but also their strict safety constraints.

    The Benefits: The Superpowers of Plant Essences

    Essential oils are not just "natural perfumes." They are highly concentrated liquid extracts obtained through steam distillation. Their aromatic molecules penetrate the skin instantly to work deep within:

    Purifying and Antibacterial: Tea Tree or Geranium are the ultimate solutions for blemish-prone skin. They regulate sebum and target bacteria without stripping the epidermis.

    • Asthmatic or Highly Allergic Individuals: Inhaling or topically applying EOs can cause severe asthma attacks in sensitive individuals.

    • People with a History of Hormone-Dependent Cancers: Some oils (like Clary Sage or Cypress) have estrogen-like properties, meaning they mimic human hormones, making them unsafe in these medical contexts.
